Limehurst Fur and feather 2018

Another season has come and gone, I really can’t believe how fast it has passed by, our last match of the season, The Andy Anderson memorial trophy was once again up for grabs.

Weston Pools was the location, Jacks and Stretton where the waters being used, this time of year the draw is all important as the fish start to shoal up, the smart money was looking towards the bowl area on Stretton.

28 anglers where split 11 on Jacks and 17 on Stretton, the match was typical of this time of year, fish where hard to come by certainly in the early exchanges, the man to beat was Eric Thomas on the much favoured Peg 3 Jacks, and so it proved at the final whistle, Eric taking his 4th straight club match win and the club championship with it. the rest of the sections where very keenly fought with a few pound usually settling the difference, in the final section Jim Whitley piped Dave Bennett by 1oz.

Congratulations to Eric for an outstanding performance not just on the day but over the last few years well done top banana! Big thanks go out to Mike and Brian, Without there hard work and effort these days just wouldn’t be the success that they are,on a personal note I had a great day enjoying watching 10 million leaves blown up and down stretton, peg 31 was my home for the day and I had one of those days where I’d catch a couple thought I’d sussed it and then nothing for
twenty minutes canny things these fishes! I was fortunate to wrestle the section from up in the water meastro Dave Bennet by 1oz still he grabbed it back as I’d won 3rd overall and then Dave and I learned we had won the pairs,We all had a right laugh on stretton Mike Hilton seemed to be attached to the lake plug which at one stage I thought he would pull out(really big elastic)new kid on the block Lee Horsfall was struggling to catch so he tried his hand at game a pheasant flew off with top kit! All in all I had a blast nice to share the day with you all see you on the bank tight lines jinmy
